Modelesk

pose · direct · capture — iOS & Android

You don't need a model.You need direction.

Modelesk is a camera that coaches. It reads the frame, tells you how to stand, and tells your friend where to point the phone — before the shutter, not after.

inside the app

Everything a photographer would tell you. Nobody has to say it out loud.

Five things happen between opening Modelesk and getting a photo you actually keep.

  1. 01

    live direction

Open the camera and the cues start. Angle, posture, distance, where to put your hands — each one arrives as a short instruction, in time to act on it.

  2. 02

    photographer mode

Hand the phone to someone who has never taken a good photo of you. Modelesk tells them where to stand, how low to crouch and when to press — in plain words, on their screen.

  3. 03

    pose library

Hundreds of poses, filtered by where you are, what you're wearing and how many people are in the shot. Pick one and the app walks both of you through it.

  4. 04

    light reading

A live meter reads the light falling on your face and says which way to turn. Harsh midday sun and a dim restaurant get different advice, because they need it.

  5. 05

    keeper picking

It keeps shooting through the moment and surfaces the frames worth keeping — eyes open, hands settled, expression landed. The rest never clutters your roll.

how it works

Three steps, and none of them are editing.

Modelesk works before the photo exists. Nothing is generated, retouched or invented after the fact.

  1. 1

    pick a look

Choose a pose, or let Modelesk read your surroundings and suggest a few that suit the place, the light and the outfit you're standing in.

  2. 2

    get in frame

Corner marks show you where to stand. Cues fire as you move — closer, turn, chin, hands — until the frame is right.

  3. 3

    hold and capture

When everything lines up the frame locks and the shutter fires, hands-free if nobody is holding the phone. Keepers land straight in your camera roll.

what it isn't

Real photos. Real moments. No generated versions of you.

Modelesk never invents a photo, swaps a face or places you somewhere you weren't. It coaches a real camera in real time, so what comes out is a moment you were actually in — just framed the way you'd have wanted.

  • no AI-generated or face-swapped images
  • cue processing runs on your device
  • photos save straight to your camera roll
  • no account needed to shoot

who it's for

For anyone who has ever said “just delete that one”.

Modelesk is not a photographer's tool. It's for the person in front of the camera.

dating profiles

Six photos that look like you on a good day, taken in an afternoon, without a shoot or a favour.

travelling

You're at the viewpoint once. Modelesk coaches whoever you handed your phone to, so you don't find out later that it was a miss.

creators

Shoot alone on a tripod with hands-free capture, and get a set of usable frames instead of a hundred near-misses.

milestones

Graduations, weddings, birthdays. The photos people actually print, taken with someone quietly directing them.

work headshots

A clean, well-lit portrait against a plain wall, without booking a studio for it.

group shots

Staggered heights, spacing, who stands where — the arrangement that makes a group photo work, laid out before the timer runs.

the front row

Get in before the first photo.

Front Row members get the app before the store listing goes live, help decide which poses ship first, and keep early-supporter pricing once Modelesk is paid.

  • early builds
  • a say in what ships
  • founder pricing, kept

One email when the beta opens. Nothing else, and you can leave in a click.

faq

Before you ask.

When does Modelesk launch?

It's in development now, for both iPhone and Android. We haven't set a public date — the Front Row list gets the beta before there's anything in the stores.

Does Modelesk edit or generate my photos?

No. It coaches a real camera before the shutter and saves the real frame. There's no face swapping, no generated backgrounds and no invented versions of you.

Do I need someone else to take the photo?

No. Photographer mode is there for when a friend is holding the phone, but you can prop the phone up and shoot hands-free — the frame locks and fires on its own once you're in position.

Will it work in bad light?

That's most of what the light meter is for. Modelesk reads what's falling on your face and tells you which way to turn, whether that's harsh midday sun, a window seat or a dim bar.

What will it cost?

There'll be a free tier you can genuinely shoot with, and a paid tier for the full pose library and advanced coaching. The prices aren't final, so we're not quoting any yet.

Where do my photos go?

To your camera roll, on your phone. Cue processing runs on-device, and Modelesk doesn't upload your photos anywhere to do its job.

Which phones will it support?

iPhone and Android at launch. Exact minimum OS versions will be confirmed when the beta opens — the live cues lean on recent on-device camera and vision APIs.

when it lands

Both stores. One list to hear about it first.

Modelesk is coming to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, the Front Row list is the only way in.
